Welcome to the Arena!!
Gladiator is a game of combat and strategy. Try to maneuver your Gladiator into position to make a killing strike on your opponent or leave yourself open and you will be the one struck down! This game plays as a bracket tournament and will not interfere with any other games you have scheduled. Just sign up, find me Saturday morning, and I will match you up with an opponent (and find a time for you to fight) or you can bring one with you (along with a name for your Gladiator). Combats will take place in this time slot or any time I am not running a Circus Maximus game. If you win, you fight again. The last 2 in the bracket will fight on Sunday (or Saturday evening if brackets are done) for the championship. Combat is 1-on-1 to the death.
Gladiator creation: 5 minutes
Learn the game: 5 minutes
Combat: 5-30 minutes (or both players decide on a winner)
This is a popular yearly tournament that I run at NTRPG Con in Dallas every year. Last years winner was a local boy, Edwin Nagy, fighting as Stadius Novious. The only way to be the Emperor's Champion is to sign up and fight your way to glory. I will see you in the Arena!!

In the tile-laying game Castles of Mad King Ludwig, players are tasked with building an amazing, extravagant castle for King Ludwig II of Bavaria...one room at a time. You see, the King loves castles, having built Neuschwanstein (the castle that inspired the Disney theme park castles) and others, but now he's commissioned you to build the biggest, best castle ever — subject, of course, to his ever-changing whims. Each player acts as a building contractor who is adding rooms to the castle he's building while also selling his services to other players.

Argent University! The foremost school of magic in the world of Indines. For nearly a millennium, Argent has stood as the epicenter for scientific magical study and technological advancement. Her halls have been home to the brightest minds, and the most famous mages the world has ever seen. But none have been able to call themselves more powerful, or influential, then the Chancellor of Argent University.

The positon of Chancellor is one of untold magical and political power! And the position is open...

Nostros Callahaan, the current Chancellor, has declared that he is stepping down. As is custom, he has formed the Consortium of voters, and in one weeks’ time, the Consortium will choose a new Chancellor.

As one of Argents most likely candidates, it is up to you, to use all of your guile, influence, and raw magical power, to insure that your name is at the top of the voter lists! Which is no easy task, when several other members of the administration are out for the same job.

Argent: The Consortium is a highly interactive, cutthroat, worker-placement game. By amassing a collection of spells, equipment, and student apprentices, you will set yourself up to earn the most votes when the consortium convenes at the end of 5 rounds.
If you've ever played Stone Age and thought "I wish I could knock Jerry out of the toolshed, with a Lightning Bolt!" Than this game is for you!

New and experienced players are equally welcome.

It is the roaring 20s, and while there’s electricity in the air, unnatural storms are brewing as well. Strange things are happening in the small Massachusetts town of Arkham: people have gone missing, sightings of indescribable creatures grow more and more frequent, the very air thickens with a sense of foreboding that roils like an acrid mist through the streets. The Ancient Ones are stirring…

Designed for one to eight players, Arkham Horror is a cooperative adventure game of survival, horror, and investigation. A terrible creature from beyond time and space—an Ancient One—is awakening, roused by dimensional gates that open across the city. Players take on the role of investigators, each with a unique backstory, abilities, and equipment. Joining forces, the investigators must secure the city, encountering its haunted and mysterious locations before the Ancient One awakens. If the Ancient One awakens and defeats the players in the final battle, all of Arkham is doomed.

Learn to Play: Let the Wookie Win
Hosted by Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Maine in League with Bangor’s Own: Crusader Squadron!

Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Maine will be providing several, regulation, 3 foot by 3 foot play spaces for this introductory format. The goal is to teach new players the mechanics and rules of Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures and hopefully help our community of players grow. This is an opt-in/opt-out format where anyone can walk away from or up to the table at any point throughout the day. Each player will be provided the necessary game pieces to play. Should a player own their own game components they are more than welcome to use them. At least one representative of Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Maine will be available at the table to teach the game mechanics to new interested players.

The game format will be what is known as a Furball. Each player will use a single small-based ship whose squadron point cost (the sum of the squadron points between the Pilot and all the ship’s upgrades) must not exceed 33. We will have a selection of pilots assembled and ready-to-go for convenience purposes and to help new players get playing faster. The players participating will be divided at the start (and balanced with drop-ins and drop-outs) by the Game Master into three separate teams: The Rebel Alliance/Resistance, The Galactic Empire/The First Order, and Scum and Villainy. Thereby representing all of the playable factions available in Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures.

Each ship on the play space will be worth two victory points and will accrue one additional victory point for each ship it eliminates. Score will be kept by the Game Master. A team wins, and the match ends, when a team has earned 50 Victory Points. Once a ship has been destroyed the player under whose control the ship falls may choose to opt-out and thus drop-out of the match or, with our encouragement, continue to participate. At the end of the current round they will be allowed to respawn in their team’s respawn zone. Players are advised to choose their respawn point carefully as they will activate with the rest of the players and be fair game come the combat phase to follow!

At 3pm we will be drawing names for our FREE TO ENTER win-a-coreset giveaway! You must be present to win and will be allotted 15 minutes to show up before we re-draw for your prize. First prize will be a copy of the original X-Wing Miniatures Core Set and a copy of the Force Awakens Core Set. Second prize will have their choice of one copy of either core set. Third prize will receive the one core set that remains. Please come by, learn to play, and enter for a chance to walk away with up to $70 in game merchandise!

Description From the Fantasy Flight Games website:

"The galaxy is in limbo. In a time of such betrayal, trust is a word loosely associated with foolishness."

Twilight Imperium is an epic board game of galactic conquest for three to 8 players. Each player takes command of one of 16 unique civilizations to compete for interstellar supremacy through warfare, trade, uncertain allegiances, and political dominance. Each civilization provides a unique game experience with different abilities and play styles. Will you play as the Emirates of Hacan and preside over every trade agreement made in the galaxy, or will you be the Federation of Sol and rapidly take over worlds in hopes of dominating the entire galaxy? In Twilight Imperium, many paths lead to the center of the galaxy, but every path is forged from broken promises.

This Game takes HOURS to play, so this is more of an introductory game. We probably won't make it through the whole thing, but it'll give you an idea of what its like to play, and it's a lot of fun!

The Han Dynasty ruled ancient China for nearly 400 years, but corruption and poor governance led to rebellion in the late second century. Players will take the roles of feudal lords of these states, attempting to seize power for themselves and unify China under their rule!

But be warned - each of the three states has different starting positions, and any alliances are only temporary. The balance of power shifts constantly throughout the game, and only the most cunning lord shall prevail in the end!

Please note that this game is specifically designed for exactly three players.

It has been a grueling training regiment at the Academy, but you're finally ready for your first mission as a full-fledged T.I.M.E. agent. You and your team will travel back (or forward) in time to prevent some cataclysmic event. But don't waste a moment...every second counts!

In T.I.M.E. Stories, you will work cooperatively with a team to solve a mystery taking place in a different era. Each team member will enter a shell of someone alive at the time and gain their physical strengths and weaknesses. If you can't complete the adventure in time you'll be sent back to the start of the mission for another attempt.

Each T.I.M.E. Stories deck is a new scenario waiting to be discovered! When are we this time?

The group will be playing the base game scenario and we should have time for multiple runs. If only 2 people sign up I can jump in as the 3rd but other wise I will just GM.

The Abyss power is once again vacant, so the time has come to get your hands on the throne and its privileges. Use all of your cunning to win or buy votes in the Council. Recruit the most influential Lords and abuse their powers to take control of the most strategic territories. Finally, impose yourself as the only one able to rule the Abyssal people!

Abyss is a game of development, combination and collection in which players try to take control of strategic locations in an underwater city. To achieve this, players must develop on three levels: first by collecting allies, then using them to recruit Lords of the Abyss, who will then grant access to different parts of the city. Players acquire cards through a draft of sorts, and the Lords of the Abyss acquired on those cards grant special powers to the cardholder — but once you use the cards to acquire a location, that power is shut off, so players need to time their land grabs well in order to put themselves in the best position for when the game ends.

LET'S GO TO MCDONALD'S! Do you want to win a trip to the *greatest restaurant in the world?* Flip the Table is proud to present the second annual prestigious tournament to determine the ultimate champion of The McDonald's Game, the rare 1975 Milton Bradley classic based on the iconic fast food franchise!

In this game, players take on the role of a member of the McDonaldland gang as they race to be the first to earn 25 points by filling orders for classic McDonald's items like Big Macs, Fries, Milkshakes and even the venerable Filet O'Fish. When a player lands on the ""Let's Go to McDonald's"" space, they read aloud an order which the remaining players race, *in real time*, to complete using the food in their racks. It's a test of memory, concentration, and dexterity as players frantically grab food while trying not to foul up the customer's order.

This tournament will take place in two rounds within the 2 hour time slot. The first round will support up to 12 players at up to 3 tables who will vie for a spot at the final table. The winner of the final round will win a trip for two...to McDonald's! ($25.00 value, to take place immediately after the event). ***However, even non-winners can join us for lunch, as McDonald's is a place of Food, Folks, and Fun!***

SUPERFIGHT is a game where you argue with your friends over ridiculous fights. The game is very simple. It's fun for all levels and kinds of players. You draw cards to create a character with strengths and weaknesses, then argue why your character would win the fight vs the other player's character.

Examples: Mr. Rogers just drank 5 energy drinks and is really hangry.
Barney controls an army of flying monkeys armed with a sadness ray.

SLASH is a card-based party game in which players compete to create the best romantic fan fiction pairing. Everybody gets a hand of their favorite characters from pop culture, history, and literature. The matchmaker selects one from her hand and places it face up on the table. For a bit more storytelling the matchmaker can request that each player narrate some portion of the relationship they are attempting to create. Maybe it's the first date, or their wedding day or describing the moment when they realized they belonged together. Each player in turn selects a possible 'ship for that character using a card from their hand, narrating as necessary and hoping that the matchmaker chooses theirs. But, if she doesn't, you can always narrate the tale of this destined connection to win the favor of the table and overrule the matchmaker. Play continues until one player has accumulated 20 points worth of characters.

The good news: You get to be on TV!*
The bad news: You are on a game show where you and your new "friends" need to escape a trap-filled complex with your lives.

Room 25 is a cooperative or semi-cooperative game where you all play as characters on the hottest game show on DBN (Dystopian Broadcast Network). Start in the middle of a deadly and changing complex and find your way out via Room 25 by checking rooms, moving to new locations, controlling the complex configuration and, if needed, pushing each other through the complex.

Depending on time and if the group wishes we may be playing fully cooperative or semi-cooperatively with 1-2 players secretly working against the team.

Gameplay will include the base game, Season 2 expansion, and possibly the Audience promo.

Dead of Winter puts 2-5 players in a small, weakened colony of survivors in a world where most of humanity is either dead or diseased, flesh-craving monsters. Each player leads a faction of survivors with dozens of different characters in the game.

Dead of Winter is a meta-cooperative psychological survival game. This means players are working together toward one common victory condition — but for each individual player to achieve victory, he must also complete his personal secret objective. This secret objective could relate to a psychological tick that's fairly harmless to most others in the colony, a dangerous obsession that could put the main objective at risk, a desire for sabotage of the main mission, or (worst of all) vengeance against the colony! Certain games could end with all players winning, some winning and some losing, or all players losing. Work toward the group's goal, but don't get walked all over by a loudmouth who's looking out only for his own interests!

It's Red versus Blue as two teams of spies are racing to meet with their agents first. Only the Spymasters know the agents' locations... the teams only know their code names. The Spymasters must give one word clues that can point to multiple words on the board. The Spies attempt to guess the words of their color while avoiding the other team's words... and both teams want to avoid the assassin!

Come play one of the hottest deduction games of the year, and maybe you can bring home your very own copy!

Welcome to the Circus!!
Take the reins of your Chariot for a 3 lap race around the track to be crowned the Emperor's Champion of the Circus Maximus. Violent and bloody, 8 chariots race around the track hampering their opponents by whipping their drivers/horses, ramming their chariots or running over crashed opponents. Run as a Light (speed), Medium (mix of both) or a Heavy (brute). There will be 2 qualifiers with the top 4 racers from each qualifying for the final on Sunday. If you don't qualify in one, you can show up for the other qualifier (space permitting). Will you race as a Light and rely on speed to try to avoid your opponents or run as a Heavy and try to brute force your way to the final? Either will work, if you have the guts to do what must be done to your opponents. XP and a monetary prize* will be awarded to the top 4 finishers in each prelim to outfit their chariot with weapons and armor for the final.
This is a Tournament game I run at NTRPG Con each year. I keep the sheet of anyone who races in this and lives through the final and if you enter at any Con I run this at, you will be able to use that Chariot in a qualifier there.
Good luck and drive safely!!

Dread is a game of suspense and horror where players participate in a mutual telling of an original tale. The thrill of a Dread game lies in the tension between desire and loss. You will take on the role of people trapped in a story that is only as compelling as it is hostile—people who will find themselves making decisions we hope never to face in real life.

To build tension Dread uses a unique system of pulling blocks from a of tower of stacked blocks referred to as the tower of dread. Each pull from the tower is used to resolve conflicts and resolve actions.

In this game session we will be playing the Beneath a Metal Sky scenario with the premise the players are the crew members on a small spacecraft. The ship has come across an abandoned space hulk and have docked to investigate.

Test your gaming mastery against former IRON GM Chris Perice!

The winning game master gets a Free Ticket to TotalCon in Massachusetts where they will have a chance to earn the title of Iron Contender!

The Iron GM tournament turns adventure-making into a competitive sport. Inspired by three Secret Story Elements unveiled at the show, GMs spend an hour crafting an adventure then run it for players who, in turn, judge them on their performance.

GMs are randomly assigned to a table of Players. Next we reveal our three secret story ingredients.

GMs have sixty minutes to craft adventures, placing the secret ingredients at the nucleus of their games, while Players have sixty minutes to build characters.

After 4-hours of gaming thrills the players rate their GM on special scorecards, using tournament-tested criteria.

Iron GM uses the 3.5 SRD by default, but you are welcome to substitute an alternate game system if the Players at your table unanimously agree to the change. Just arrive, prepped to the hilt and ready to use the rules as found in the 3.5 SRD http://www.d20srd.org/. If possible, GMs should also bring core rulebooks or other aids to assist players with character creation.

Pre-gen characters are permitted but optional. GMs are NOT permitted to use published adventure material or adventure material not of their own devising.

You have a good chunk of your debt to that smuggler Brogan paid off, but the closer you get to getting Brogan off your back with that final payment the harder he's making it for you. It would take two more years of his little smuggling runs to get things square with him. Then, out of the blue, he tells you he's got an opportunity for you to square things up with one job. It's not even a job for him, it's for the old time crime syndicate on Coruscant where the majority of his smuggled goods end up with. The way he describes the job it sounds like a piece of cake, but you know Brogan by now. The easier he describes a job the more of a mess it ends up becoming. Still, this might be your ticket out.

The apocalyptic nightmare seems interminable, with the endless rain, lakes of blood, and awful, sticky septic mud; the screaming shells and choking gas; the machine guns spitting lead. The Great War is a savage ordeal of senseless destruction and death beyond comprehension. But when the whistles blow, it is time to go over the top, and then the real terror begins. Horror lurks in the muddy, noxious darkness, coiling to strike—something far more loathsome than simple human destruction.

[This five to six hour Call of Cthulhu scenario is written by Kevin Ross and presented by Andre Kruppa of Game Soapbox Productions in cooperation with Dark Phoenix Events. (Please, no players familiar with the scenario.) A theatrical-style tabletop game using lights and sound!]

Note: There is an event fee of $12 per player (in addition to registration fee for the convention) to participate in this game. Somewhere under a lost and lonely hill of grim and foreboding aspect lies a labyrinthine crypt filled with terrible traps and not a few strong and ferocious monster to slay the unwary. Rich treasures both precious and magical fill the crypt, but in addition to the aforementioned guardians, some say a demilich still wards his final haunt, (Be warned that tales told have it that this being possesses powers that make him nearly undefeatable!) Accounts relate that adventurers have an extremely low possibility of ever finding the chamber where the demilich Acerarak lingers, for the passages and rooms of the tomb are fraught with terrible traps, poison gases, and magical protections. Furthermore, the demilich has hidden his lair so well, that even those who avoid the pitfalls likely will not locate their true goal. So only a large and well-prepared parties of the bravest and strongest should even consider the attempt, and if they do locate the tomb, they must be prepared to fail.
