Pathfinder 2nd Edition Pathfinder Playtest
6 of 61 of 1

Character level 4

Written by Logan Bonner, Jason Bulmahn, James Jacobs, Amanda Hamon Kunz, Stephen Radney-MacFarland, and Mark Seifter

In service to the Esoteric Order of the Palatine Eye, but with the promise of great treasures to be found on the journey, you race to the foothills of Pale Mountain, a dormant volcano in northern Katapesh. There, you must search a long-forgotten tomb to retrieve an artifact of particular importance to the Order before dangerous cultists can get their hands on it.

Creating Characters
You set aside the primary characters you made for “The Lost Star” and create brand-new 4th-level characters. Some characters in the group should be suited to exploring the wilderness, such as rangers and druids, but you should still strive to create a balanced party with a variety of characters rather than multiples of the most wilderness-focused classes.

Backgrounds
You should choose a background from those listed on pages 38–39 of the Pathfinder Playtest Rulebook.

Languages
Three languages— Auran, Gnoll, and Ancient Osiriani— might open up additional role-playing or investigatory opportunities in this chapter, and each of you has access to learn these languages. However, knowledge of these languages isn’t required to complete “In Pale Mountain’s Shadow.”

Purchasing Gear
Each character begins with one 3rd-level item, two 2nd-level items, one 1st-level item, and 300 sp to spend on additional items. The GM may determine which items you can start with, but you should have access to at least all common items of your level or lower. The characters already know each other, so they can pool their money to buy items.

Released August 2018 at GenCon.

7 of 61 of 1

Character levels 1-5

Written by Benjamin Bruck

Every year, the Sargavan government hosts the Sargava Chalice, a contest of speed and survival that draws eager competitors from far and wide, each hoping to win fame, fortune, and glory. This year, the Pathfinder Society has taken a special interest in the competition, sponsoring a team of agents to compete to win the trophy. Can the PCs overcome their competition and the dangers of the Sargavan wilderness to emerge victoriously?

Blazing Dangerous Trails is the first scenario in the two-part "Champion's Chalice" campaign arc. It is followed by Pathfinder Society Scenario #8-21: Agents of the Eye. Both chapters are intended to be played in order.

0 of 61 of 1

Character levels 1-4

Written by Crystal Malarsky and John Laffan

When a major Pact Worlds organization approaches the Starfinder Society about investigating an abandoned outpost in Near Space, the PCs get assigned to the case. Travelling to a distant world, surmounting dangerous threats in the void of space, and meeting new alien cultures—this mission is about everything the Starfinder Society embodies.

Ashes of Discovery is a replayable scenario designed to help introduce players to what it's like to be a member of the Starfinder Society. With randomized mechanical and story elements, when you play this scenario, you'll never play the same scenario twice.

Released April 2018.
