We welcome you to join us at Impossible Realities: March To Oblivion 2019 for this EPIC adventure!

An EPIC is a grand adventure involving multiple tables working together to defeat a common foe. This time we will toil through the streets of Waterdeep in “Chaos in the City of Splendors” (DDEP08-01)

Adventure Synopsis:

The hunt for the dragon’s cache has attracted ne’er-do-wells and fortune seekers to Waterdeep from far and wide and the gangs of Waterdeep are not about to let such a bounty of talent go to waste. Chaos and shenanigans await the brave and the bold in the City of Splendors!

Playtime: 3 hours

Levels of play: 1-4

Registration: Starts at 9:00AM. Start time is 10:00AM for Adventure League (AL) legal characters or provided pre-gens. Run time is 3 hours.

We are requesting a $5 donation to the Extra-Life Children's Hospital Campaign to reserve your seat. While donations are not mandatory, table space is limited, so reserve your seat to guarantee your spot. If donation is received you will manually be registered for EPIC during pre-registration, otherwise leftover seats will be available to signup for day off event.

FAQ:

What you need to bring?

-A fully “ready” Adventure League (AL) legal character and log sheet.

-‘Enough’ dice for your character.

-Writing implements.

-A familiarity and basic understanding of both Dungeons & Dragons, your character and AL Rules (See below for rules).

-Desire to have a great time!

-Your miniature (optional)

IMPORTANT:

-This is a timed event. Players are expected to work together and cooperate above and beyond what you might see at an AL session.

-Reserving a spot at a specific table is in no way 100% guaranteed. The DM list is not set in stone, and we may be forced to move players from their desired seating (i.e. to balance out table seating).

-Arriving late may forfeit your spot, please arrive early!

-If you do not have an AL character ready at the start of the event due to any reason, you WILL be provided with a pre-generated character. There is no time at or before the event to create a character and get it approved. The DMs/admins will be busy.

-We reserve the right to expel disruptive players. This may be from the table or the event pending our discretion.

Clan Invasion!!!

Scenario game team vs team with a 4 hour time limit. Tech level Clan invasion.

Before teams are chosen each player present its mech to the field then teams are chosen by the team captain. One named pulled out of a hat each time way to win is that who has the most amount of points at the end of the 4 hour window wins.

1st way to score points:

Out of two maps there are 4 objective areas each side taken two and can choose there location, each location cannot be more then 6 hexes apart from each other and from the boarder. Then there is one objective in the center. Each team chooses in turn to place its enemies objective points (2 per team). Each of the four objective is worth one point per turn for holding said point without being contested. The center objective is worth 2 points without being contested.

2nd way to score points:

Each enemy mech is work 20 points for destroying it or disabling it etc ( two gyro hits). Each player is given one respond but must wait till the next round to place there mech back on to the field.

3rd way to win: Capture the flag!

To capture said enemy mech you much land on the flag token and wait a full turn to pick it up. When you take the flag back to your home base your team scores 15 points and the flag is responded back to the enemy home base. You can capture said flag as many times as you want.

The game will end either who ever scores 100 points first or when the 4 hour window expires.

With the unique blessing of a celestial ambassador, the PCs depart Magnimar and rush into the swamp, chasing after the mastermind behind the corruption of several of Magnimar's iconic monuments. Game Description from Board Game Geek:

Carcassonne is a tile-placement game in which the players draw and place a tile with a piece of southern French landscape on it. The tile might feature a city, a road, a cloister, grassland or some combination thereof, and it must be placed adjacent to tiles that have already been played, in such a way that cities are connected to cities, roads to roads, etcetera. Having placed a tile, the player can then decide to place one of his meeples on one of the areas on it: on the city as a knight, on the road as a robber, on a cloister as a monk, or on the grass as a farmer. When that area is complete, that meeple scores points for its owner.

During a game of Carcassonne, players are faced with decisions like: "Is it really worth putting my last meeple there?" or "Should I use this tile to expand my city, or should I place it near my opponent instead, giving him a hard time to complete his project and score points?" Since players place only one tile and have the option to place one meeple on it, turns proceed quickly even if it is a game full of options and possibilities.

Scenario #10-14: Debt to the Quah

The truth about a bungled Pathfinder expedition into what was supposedly Thassilonian ruin has come to light. Instead of being a forgotten ruin from an ancient civilization, the site was actually an ancient and sacred Shoanti mausoleum. After reading about this finding in the Pathfinder Chronicles, members of one Shoanti quah that has become an ally to the Pathfinder Society has given the Society a chance to explain its actions before a tribal council. If they can secure the council's approval, the PCs will have a chance to set things right at the sacred site. After being left open by the previous expedition, the tomb is filled with both opportunistic bandits and unquiet spirits.

Scenario #10-13: Fragments of Antiquity

After creating her spectacular museum demiplane, the legendary sorcerer Hao Jin departed without a forwarding address. However, the Pathfinder Society has recently discovered her last known whereabouts on the Material Plane: a Tian Shu library that she later transported to her demiplane to spare it local dangers. Not only could this site shed light on Hao Jin's last accomplishments, but the building's vast contents are a snapshot of a continent's history. The sequestered library holds far more secrets than that, though, and it is now home to the proud Scalebreaker kobolds and a powerful spirit that they dare not anger.

A Hint of Frostbite

The Canadian Arctic Weather Station is a Danish/Canadian joint research venture for monitoring the effects of global warming in the high arctic. Located 30 km north of Qaanaaq, the station is home 20 twenty personnel ranging from meteorologists, technicians, maintenance and support. Transportation is by short haul aircraft and helicopters from Thule Air Force base (a remnant U.S. Cold War B-52 emergency refueling base).

The issue at hand during this late spring is the effects on Greenland’s glaciers and snow levels. The personnel have been setting up multiple sensor sites located around the station that are monitored by driving out on snowmobile and removing the small air filters for particulate counts, such as pollen counts and airborne pollutants this far north. Observations this far are disturbing in that the counts are very high, and the temperatures are well above decades of recorded values. Several people assigned to this monitoring represent all sides of this environmental issue, including activists and lobbyists to ensure no tampering of the research occurs.

This event is presented for those players who missed the chance in years past to play in this event.
