Board Game0 of 51 of 1

In Kemet, players each deploy the troops of an Egyptian tribe and use the mystical powers of the gods of ancient Egypt – along with their powerful armies – to score points in glorious battles or through invasion of rich territories. A game is typically played to 8 or 10 victory points, which may be accrued through winning attacks, controlling temples, controlling fully-developed pyramids, sacrificing to the gods, and wielding particular magical powers. The conquest for the land of Kemet takes place over two phases: Day and Night. During the day, choose an action amongst the nine possible choices provided by your player mat and perform it immediately. Once every player has taken five actions, night falls, with players gathering Prayer Points from their temples, drawing Divine Intervention cards, and determining the turn order before the start of the new day. As the game progresses, they can use Prayer Points to acquire power tiles. Some of these enroll magical creatures and have them join their troops. In addition to intimidating enemies, these creatures provide special powers! Detailed miniature components represent the combat units and the supernatural creatures that are summoned to enhance them. Combat is resolved through cards chosen from a diminishing six-card hand and enhanced by bonuses.
Adults only; 2-4 hours.

Board Game1 of 31 of 1

You all have the power to travel back in time. You don't know what gives you this ability, but it doesn't matter. You have this power and you're using it. However, now and again tragedies occur where you are deeply involved. Though you have attempted to go back and stop these tragedies, it has become apparent that someone is actively causing them to occur, foiling your efforts to prevent them. But you have found others who can travel as you can, and who are equally dedicated to stopping this mysterious foe. Perhaps if you work together, you can finally put an end to this vicious cycle. Note: This slot is for new players who have not played Tragedy Looper before. It includes a short learning scenario followed by a full game. As the game uses scripted scenarios, once you have played one you cannot play it again (as you will already know the story).
Adults and teens; 3 hours.

GURPS1 of 81 of 1

If high-powered action is what you crave, avoid this adventure. You are citizens of a small town that is exposed to a dangerous pathogen. Then things get weird. Think Steven King. If you consider dying well a worthy end to a well role-played character, then this adventure may be for you. It would be nice if at least one of you survived to tell the tale.
All ages; 4 hours.

Pre-generated character sheets will be provided. I will be using a very rules-light version of GURPS, so no experience with GURPS is necessary. You are encouraged to bring pencils, 6-sided dice, and your laptops/tablets, if convenient.

Board Game2 of 51 of 1

Waterdeep, the City of Splendors – the most resplendent jewel in the Forgotten Realms, and a den of political intrigue and shady back-alley dealings. In this game, the players are powerful lords vying for control of this great city. Its treasures and resources are ripe for the taking, and that which cannot be gained through trickery and negotiation must be taken by force! In Lords of Waterdeep, a strategy board game for 2-6 players, you take on the role of one of the masked Lords of Waterdeep, secret rulers of the city. Through your agents, you recruit adventurers to go on quests on your behalf, earning rewards and increasing your influence over the city. Expand the city by purchasing new buildings that open up new actions on the board, and hinder – or help – the other lords by playing Intrigue cards to enact your carefully laid plans. During the course of play, you may gain points or resources through completing quests, constructing buildings, playing intrigue cards or having other players utilize the buildings you have constructed. At the end of 8 rounds of play, the player who has accrued the most points wins the game.
Adult only; 2 hours.

Fiasco0 of 41 of 1

THINGS CAN GO WRONG, FAST... Maybe some dude from youth group talked you into boosting a case of motor oil, but now your cousin is dead in a swamp and you killed him. Maybe you and your girlfriend figured you could scare your wife into a divorce, but things went pear-shaped and now a gang of cranked-up Mexicans with latex gloves and a pit bull are looking for you. It seemed like such a good idea at the time. Fiasco is inspired by cinematic tales of small time capers gone disastrously wrong - inspired by films like Blood Simple, Fargo, The Way of the Gun, Burn After Reading, and A Simple Plan. You'll play ordinary people with powerful ambition and poor impulse control. There will be big dreams and flawed execution. It won't go well for them, to put it mildly, and in the end it will probably all go south in a glorious heap of jealousy, murder, and recrimination.
Adults only; 4 hours.

For over a thousand years the things that lurk beneath the waters, skulk in the darkness and lie hungrily in dank crypts have been patient, while all around them men and monsters bicker amongst themselves, bold enough to traverse the dark caverns' depths, but afraid or perhaps wise enough to leave the forgotten vaults and hidden passages alone. And still, they wait, undisturbed. They are waiting for you! Explore this AD&D 1st Edition Judges Guild classic dungeon: The Caverns of Thracia! Will you discover the Chapel of Thanatos and what evil secrets it holds? Will you seek the Sanctuary of the Dark One for your own dark purpose? The Settlers of Catan is a multiplayer board game designed by Klaus Teuber and first published in 1995. Players assume the roles of settlers, each attempting to build and develop holdings while trading and acquiring resources. Players are rewarded points as their settlements grow; the first to reach a set number of points is the winner. The Settlers of Catan was one of the first German-style board games to achieve popularity outside of Europe. It is popular in the United States where it has been called "the board game of our time" by The Washington Post.

Humor involving the word "wood" should be expected. Teens and above please - some players may still be recovering from wine tasting. :) We will either play the basic game or Cities and Knights based on player preference. We can run two tables if enough people are interested.

Story Game1 of 51 of 1

Humanity is in danger. Time is running out. And it is up to you to do what it takes to save the day through skillful planning, spur-of-the-moment inspiration, and (quite probably) heroic self-sacrifice. Our Last Best Hope replicates classic disaster movies, like Sunshine, Deep Impact, The Core, or Armageddon, where your characters are the stars. Each game is unique, as your group confronts a new Crisis with a new set of characters and a new plan to save the Earth. While playing Our Last Best Hope, you might: 1) launch into space to stop a meteor from destroying all life on Earth, 2) drill to the center of the Earth to restart its molten core, 3) navigate zombie filled cities to stop a nuclear holocaust. Regardless of the Crisis, you and your crew are our last best hope.
Adults and teens; 4 hours.
