I will be running a new D&D 3.5 campaign at my local gaming store, Timezone Gaming. The store has three rooms, lots of drinks and snacks cheaply for sale, and plenty of rooms and tables to run the game, as well as many 3.5 books, minis, electronics, mats, and tiles to utilize. There will be no charge for playing, space is free. Games will be run every thursday every week at 7-11 pm starting this april. I plan for it to go for atleast a solid year. Characters will be belt during the first day of play.
The general plot and setting is homebrew, a world ravaged by a massive war of mages that took place in the not-so-distant past which led to a cascade of magical force resulting in the destruction of the warlike mages and the god of magic and knowlede Boccob. The resulting death of the deity and unbalancing of magic caused a massive geological upheaval which resulted in the deaths of millions, the sundering of continents, and an increased scarcity of magic on wisdom. In the power vacuum that followed, the land was taken over by an oppressive and questionable church which followed a new doctrine of eliminating or suppressing all magic and magical creatures, feeling that the only thing the arcane and divine arts were good for were destruction. The time of the campaign is set during the reign of this church, during a time of oppression and insurrection.
This is only the bare bones of the campaign, once I can meet my players in person I have a much more comprehensive summary of the world they will be playing in and its history, complete with map. I am much better explaining and describing vocally rather than textually.
